It’s only November, but winter has already reared its ugly head. Indeed, the holiday season is creeping up faster than you may think, and it’s never too soon to start shopping for presents. But what exactly do Northwestern students want this year? Check out the three most popular trends in their wishlists below.

Winter Gear:

Lots of students are feeling the sting of a Midwestern winter for the first time this year, and they’re asking for the necessary equipment to help them survive. Students specifically asked for scarves, snow boots and winter coats, citing The North Face and Canada Goose as desirable brands even with their high price point.

Shoes:

Another popular gift asked for by Northwestern students is a new pair of shoes. Whether its Birkenstock sandals for comfort, Doc Martens boots for impact, or Nike or Adidas sneakers for the intersection of practicality and style, almost any student would be happy with a new pair of shoes — the specifics all depend on their personal style.

Accessories:

Students also asked for these miscellaneous bits and bobs that add the finishing touch to any outfit. Popular requests included belts, both understated and boldly branded, and earrings, ranging in style from classic hoops to campy cicadas.

Keep these items in mind when filling your shopping cart this holiday season. Take inspiration from both your giftee’s tastes and these trends to give them a very happy holiday. Now get shopping and make merry!
