Kanye West Told Ellen DeGeneres He Has To Be The “Michael Jackson of Apparel”

Kanye West was on The Ellen Degeneres Show last Thursday and unsurprisingly, he went off on a typical Kanye rant. Ellen simply sat there as Kanye went on about his ideas, his drive to help people, his artistry and his condition called “synesthesia” in which he “sees sounds.” He claimed that everything he “sonically makes is a painting.”

Then he went on to talk about his design and clothing line, even reminiscing about when he called up Payless ShoeSource asking to collaborate with them. He said that Michael Jackson and Russell Simmons enabled him to go so far in music. He mentioned that, at one point, Michael Jackson couldn’t get his music video on MTV because he was considered urban. “I literally have to be the Michael Jackson of apparel in order to break open the doors for everyone that will come after I’m gone,” he said. “After I’m dead. After they call me wacko Kanye.” Kanye ended his rantand his interviewby apologizing for all the realness.

Whoopi Goldberg To Produce Reality Show About Transgender Models

Whoopi Goldberg is teaming up with Slay Model Management, an exclusively transgender modeling agency, on a reality show called “Strut.” The show will focus on transgender models who are challenging stereotypes and changing expectations of gender and beauty in the fashion industry.

“This show is important right now because for all of the positive advances the community has made and continues to make, transgender is still a hot-button word that gets people hysterical,” Goldberg told Variety. “People tend to focus on the stereotype instead of the person, and this series will give viewers a unique opportunity to spend time with real people who are struggling with the same challenges we all face as we make our way through the world.”

“Strut” is expected to premiere later this year on Oxygen.
