STITCH's Watch Guide

This year for Hanukkah, instead of asking my parents for the usual assortment of clothing, I went a different route and asked for a watch. I had never really had a nice watch before and I thought that this accessory would be a refreshing addition to my look. Ever since I received my beautiful Shinola watch (made in Detroit!), I have become completely obsessed with it.

I have found myself picking outfits specifically for the purpose of highlighting my watch. Even on my shlubbiest days, my watch instantly sophisticates my look. There are so many different types of watches and it can be difficult to find the one that best suits you. Here is a guide to the perfect watch for every style.

If you are big into exercising or just want to keep track of the amount of steps you walk each day, a Fitbit is the perfect sporty option. Fitbit has expanded its fashion horizon, making watches that are both functional and cute. The brand has even collaborated with upscale brands such as Public School and Simply Vera by Vera Wang. The plain black one is always a classic, but if you’re looking for something a little different, there are many options.

If you want a classic feel, a simple face with a leather band is a good choice. There’s something so timeless about a leather band and it can be dressed up or down. Often, leather bands are also interchangeable so you can have different color options.

If you’re looking for something professional, a metal band is the way to go. Metal watches are both beautiful alone and look great paired with bracelets. They will instantly add a classy element to any look.
