1995 — The O.J. Simpson Trial

The Kardashians first met the spotlight in 1995 during the O.J. Simpson murder case. Robert Kardashian, Sr., the father of Kim, Kourtney, Khloe and Rob, was controversially on Simpson’s legal defense team.

2007 — Kim Kardashian sues over sex tape

Many speculate that the release of Kim Kardashian’s sex tape may have much to do with the Kardashians’ quick rise to fame. On Feb. 21, 2007, Kim Kardashian’s attorney filed a suit against Vivid Entertainment in effort to avoid the release of tapes made by Kardashian and Ray J, but ultimately Kardashian settled the suit with Vivid for a mere 5 million dollars.

2008 — Khloe goes to jail

"Kim, would you stop taking pictures of yourself? Your sister's going to jail," said Kris Jenner, their iconic momager.. Now a famous meme, Khloe’s drive to jail for violating her probation was chronicled by selfies taken by her sister, Kim Kardashian.

2011 — Kim files for divorce from Kris Humphries

After being married for 72 days to basketball player Kris Humphries, Kim Kardashian filed for divorce. After a messy, two-year long trial, Humphries and Kardashian were divorced in 2013.

2016 — Kendall testifies against stalkers

After being followed by a stranger to her home multiple times, Kendall Jenner testified during the trial of the man accused of stalking her on Oct. 13, 2016.

2017— Kim testifies against robbers in Paris

In 2016, while in Paris for Fashion Week, Kim Kardashian was robbed of her jewelry at her apartment while sleeping. Tying her hands together, duct-taping her mouth, and locking her in a bathroom, Kardashian took time off from her public life in order to deal with the trauma by putting a halt to appearances and social media. In 2017, she made a return to social media and to France in order to testify against the team of robbers that had held her at gunpoint.

2018 — Kourtney fights for reform

In an effort to hold the cosmetics industry accountable and to ensure make-up is safe for consumers, Kourtney Kardashian will head to Washington D.C. in 2018 to “speak at a closed briefing about the need for regulatory reform in the cosmetics industry,” according to The New York Times.
