STITCH's Guide to the Oscars

After Sunday’s Academy Awards, I’m sure most people’s minds are more focused on the drama for Best Movie than on the best dressed. But, here’s a roundup of the best looks from the Oscars last night. Yes, we even included looks from both Moonlight and La La Land...

Brie Larson

Larson, the 2016 winner for best actress, presented the award for best actor to Casey Affleck in a black Oscar de la Renta gown with ruffles. Larson paired the statement dress with strappy black Aquazzura sandals.

Mahershala Ali

Ali hook home the best supporting actor award for his role in Moonlight. The actor wore an all-black Ermenegildo Zegna Couture suit.

Emma Stone

Stone, the winner for best actress, wore an old-Hollywood, floor length flapper gown from Givenchy's couture collection— one of Riccardo Tisci's final designs for the brand before he stepped down as creative director earlier this month. This outfit will be forever remembered by millions as they watched Stone mouth “oh my God” during La La Land’s acceptance speech for best picture.

Hailee Steinfeld

Steinfeld presented the award for Best Animated Feature Film wearing a dress fit for a fairy. The Ralph & Russo gown was made out of a silvery, translucent material and coated with flowers for a truly magical effect. Topped off with ruffles along the back of the dress for a magical finish.

Emma Roberts

Roberts wore an Armani Prive vintage gown that followed a black-and-white, understated trend for the evening.

Ruth Negga

Negga rocked a stunning red Valentino long-sleeved dress, but the most amazing part of her look for the evening was her blue ACLU pin that popped in contrast with the dress.

Riz Ahmed

Ahmed wore Ermenegildo Zegna Couture. He presented the award for Best Visual Effects in this stunning blue tux that stood out amongst a sea of black and white.

Auli’i Cravalho

The singer wore a Rubin Singer white and metallic graphic gown. At the Oscars, Cravalho performed her Oscar-nominated song ‘How Far I’ll Go’ from Moana, alongside Lin Manuel Miranda.

Naomie Harris

The Best Supporting Actress nominee rocked an unconventional white sequined Calvin Klein dress with yellow and jewel, strappy heels (also Calvin Klein).
