Summer Pieces We Can't Live Without
As I pack up my bags for my internship in NYC this summer, I’ve been forced to make some decisions about what I’m going to bring. The short list? Some wedges, my yoga mat, killer sunglasses, and a few dresses I can’t wait to rock at my internship. But, the one piece I truly can’t live without? My Tory Burch flip flops. As someone who prefers no shoes at all, slipping on flip flops in the summer is such a blessing. But, my Torys are just as stylish as they are easy, and help me to get away with being a little bit lazy.
So, I asked around campus: what’s the one summer piece you can’t live without? This is what I heard:
“Definitely my circle-framed sunglasses. I love them because I like to people watch and I think they make my outfits look a little more modern.”— Katie Weber
“I have a shift dress at home from Urban Outfitters that’s dark blue with thin straps and flowers and so easy to wear in the summer because you don’t have to worry about anything else and it looks like you were trying hard.”— Allison Zanolli
“My rainbow flip flops— they are so easy to wear and perfectly worn in. Oh also they last for years, which makes them worth it. ”— Claire Hansen.
“My metallic and white platform sandals from Steve Madden. I like them because they're sandals but they go with everything and can dress them up or down. It can dress up like a tee shirt and shorts or make a romper or sun dress more casual.”— Kathleen Carroll
“My vintage jean jacket from Etsy. It goes with everything because it’s a medium wash.”— Emma Smyles.
