Movers and Shakers: Lexi, Staff Writer for STITCH

Meet Lexi Schiff, Northwestern sophomore and staff writer for STITCH.

What's your personal style?

I typically try to pair preppy pieces, like Kate Spade purses and envelope skirts, with more laid back, bohemian style clothes. Think flow-y long sleeves and the occasional patterned scrunchie. I also love pops of bright colors.

Why'd you join STITCH?

I joined STITCH because I wanted a way to express myself through writing, specifically on a platform that gives me the ability to write what I am passionate about. Having a team of other students to edit my work and help me become a better writer has improved me academically, and each week I look forward to coming up with pitches for my next piece.

How else do you contribute to the NU community?

I am the Head of Fundraising for UNITY Charity Fashion Show, an organization that produces several events throughout the year for our chosen beneficiary. The final showcase fashion show displays clothing lines and performances from Northwestern’s talented designers, musicians, dancers and models.

What's your number one piece of fashion advice for freshmen?

Wear what you feel good in! Admiring students strutting down Sheridan in the latest fashion trends is always fun, but at the end of the day, you should be able to feel good about your fashion sense and have the confidence to wear whatever your heart desires!
